November 23rd 2013 marked the 50th anniversary of a very special television show, Doctor Who, and the only way I could think of celebrating it appropriately was a trip on the route 150, since it all but replaced the original route 50.
The 150 is an interesting route as it departs Fleet Street and heads for the Liberties in the south inner-city. It then works its way through narrow residential streets in the area of the Coombe before crossing the Grand Canal and taking the pretty straight and direct route to Crumlin along Kildare Road. This stretch covers the routing of the former route 121. At Crumlin Hospital it heads for Crumlin Village and then along Whitehall Road West to Perrystown, before heading along Wellington Road to Rossmore.
The route is what I would call a purely residential one as its predominant function seems to be serving the houses along the route.
On the day I travelled on GT 101 from Ringsend Garage.
