Two journeys undertaken on the 15A on 22nd November 2010 and 19th September 2013
The first trip undertaken on the 15A was on the 22nd November 2010, and then it was only a means to an end, as I was heading out to Limekiln to get the 19A, the first route covered by this website. I did not take much notice of the 15A back then, the only curiosity being that the 15A went to Limekiln Farm and the 19A went to Limekil Avenue. But both routes used the same terminus. RV 603 was the bus that brought me out there that day.
Moving forward to 2013, and when I covered the 9 at the start of the year, I again just used the 15A to get me out to Limekiln Avenue (Post changes to the 15 group in 2011, the 15A started going to Limekiln Avenue, with Limekiln Farm being dropped from the destinations). I therefore decided that I had to at some stage cover the route for its own worth. So on the 19th September 2013, I boarded AX 459 in the Grand Canal Dock area and travelled out to Limekiln Avenue, before working my way back in to record the route. One noticeable change is that the route is now operated by ALX 400s, whereas up to late-2012, it was home to the Olympians. On the day, the new order in the form of a Wrightbus Gemini was spotted on the 15A in the afternoon, but alas a photograph was not possible. In the space of a year the 15A has gone from seeing buses dating from 1999 to the most modern buses in the fleet dating from 2013.
